New Level 1 DUI Laws

January 1, 2024

"Nevada has recently passed legislation to change the Level 1 DUI School requirement from an 8-hour to a 12-hour course. This new requirement is set to be implemented starting January 1, 2024. The update aims to provide more comprehensive education and awareness regarding the dangers of DUI, ultimately enhancing road safety. The new 12-hour Level 1 DUI course will include more detailed sessions covering the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving, legal consequences of DUI offenses, and strategies for making safer choices. This change reflects Nevada's ongoing efforts to reduce DUI incidents and improve driver rehabilitation programs. For more detailed information and to ensure compliance with the new requirements, you can refer to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or legal resources such as the Nevada State Bar and local DUI school providers (Shouse Law Group) (Benjamin Durham Law Firm) (Adam Graves Law) (Nevada Bar Association)."
